How do you manage and produce an award-winning pop-up book report?
The Kresge Foundation, one of the nation’s oldest and largest private philanthropies, was marking 100 years of strategic philanthropy in 2024. They needed a centennial report to both honor their historical legacy and showcase their vision for the future. The final product is a 100+ page book, featuring illustrations, pop-ups, photography, data, and stories.
I worked as the lead designer and project manager on this report, in collaboration with Brevity & Wit.

The process of producing the Kresge Centennial Report:
- Developed the design concept of the book, including, typography, layout, and color palette.
- Designed over 100+ pages of the book, collaborating closely with several vendors. Basecamp was used as our primary collaboration tool.
- Partnered with several designers and vendors, providing feedback and direction. Those partners included:
- Paper engineer:Â Simon Arizpe
- Illustrator:Â Justine Allenette Ross
- Dimensional printer:Â Structural Graphics
- Commercial printer:Â ULitho
- Set up the book for print production.

The outcome:
Won a 2024 Graphic Design USA award for the design of the Kresge Foundation’s Centennial Annual Report. The report was picked from among 8,000 entrants in the Corporate and Annual Report category.Â
